When writing a paper consider your audience…. do not write the same to your professor as you would write to a child.Consider your tone when writing so that you do not offend your audience. Make sure that you use tact.

Semi-formal Tone- used in papers for classes that are not scholarly. Standard Vocabulary Conventional Sentence Structure Few or no contractions I was somewhat annoyed when I could not find my keys and did not have time to look. Multisyllabic words Sentence Structure that would not be used in everyday speech Unable to find my keys and lacking time to search, I was slighted agitated
