Quote:

St. Lawrence's location in the North Country provides a very good atmosphere for academics and encourages a healthy interaction with peers. I love the cross-country skiing and snowball fights. If I ever long for a city life, I can always go to nearby Montreal or Ottawa.

When I came to St. Lawrence, I intended to major just in computer science. However, St. Lawrence's liberal arts education introduced me to a great variety of topics. I now plan to major in three areas, computer science, economics and mathematics, and have the chance to broaden my horizon beyond one major.

St. Lawrence also gives me the chance to discover my inner self and to pursue my goals with more self-confidence. I enjoy the small classes that encourage group discussion among the professor and other students. I feel like an integral part of the class instead of just a number. We have a really close and intimate community here.

St. Lawrence's summer fellowship program gave me an opportunity to develop software for the mathematics department. This experience got me an internship on Wall Street for the winter break of 2000 despite the fact that I was only a first-semester sophomore.
