I have been presented with many wonderful opportunities at St.
Lawrence University. Because of its size, I feel comfortable getting
involved in all areas and groups. There is always so much to partake
in, and I can never do it all. Faculty and staff are supportive
and encouraging and I feel great about working with them.
I have been completely involved in the music scene at St. Lawrence.
After finishing high school, I wasn't sure how far I wanted to
take my music career. The opportunities I found at St. Lawrence
have rekindled my love of music. I have performed in three Special
Productions ensembles with themes and music as varied as music
of the Italian Renaissance, Post-Civil War music, and Indian Film
music.
I am finishing my second year in the Laurentian Singers, the mixed
choral group. Through this ensemble, I have been able to travel—in
the past two years we’ve gone to Georgia and New Mexico—meet
new people, and learn wonderful music. Also, opportunities for
private lessons are available to all students, and I continue
to expand my piano skills through them.
I feel that I have become a well-rounded student and individual
in my time at St. Lawrence and I value that greatly. My experience
next semester in the Italy program will further enhance my college
career and will provide me with many more opportunities!
