Every
time I meet someone here the question I am asked without fail is:
Why did you come to St. Lawrence? I grew up in Brazil, but went
to an American school there and I have family in the U.S. I decided
to come to the U.S. for college because I wanted a liberal arts
education, since I tend to like different classes and want to explore
many areas.
St. Lawrence is what I needed; it's small enough that I am not
a "number" and big enough that I am able to meet new people
almost every day.
St. Lawrence has given me the opportunity to attain several goals
academically as well as socially. The psychology department is amazing.
The courses are interesting and the professors are great, and both
have helped me decide that I want psychology in my future. My intention
is to combine psychology and fine arts into marketing and advertising.
Yet that might change because there are so many possibilities here.
I am never bored with the social scene here at St. Lawrence; I
always find myself busy on the weekends. I have met people from
all over the world and grew up abroad, but I still want to see the
rest of the world. I have heard wonderful things about the international
programs St. Lawrence offers, and will study abroad before I graduate.
