I had a teacher in high school who pulled me aside one day to tell
me about what a wonderful community St. Lawrence is, and how he
thought the school would be a good fit for me. Even though I applied
to 10 other schools, I don't think that I could be happier anywhere
other than where I am right now.
I tell the tour groups that I lead for Admissions that my professors
have all been amazing, specifically in the way they cultivate personal
relationships. I really enjoy being able to talk and actively participate
in the relaxed classroom settings. I know that this would not have
been possible at some of the larger universities I looked at. I
can take courses in a wide variety of disciplines, to help me to
decide whether medicine is what I would like to do once I leave
St. Lawrence.
My First-Year Program has given me the opportunity to make close
friends. Also, with the large number of organizations, I have found
other people throughout the University who have interests similar
to my own: student government, sports medicine and community service,
all of which allow me different perspectives beyond the academic
world.
