I’m meeting a lot of people through my role as secretary
of Thelmo –both students and administrators. Thelmo exists
to provide a forum for student voices, opinions, and concerns.
It’s given me a place to grow and work on my interpersonal
skills, personal relationships, deadlines, and communication skills.
Unfortunately I didn’t start getting involved in the music
department until my sophomore year, but I have had so many opportunities
to work within the department since then. I joined University
Chorus for a semester, I worked on the Special Productions Ensemble
last semester, I’ve taken private voice lessons, and I’ve
taken classes that prepared me to perform. The music department
has given me the chance to do something I love.
I chose to come to St. Lawrence because the school seemed to
fit me so perfectly. The second I set foot on this campus I felt
comfortable and knew I could succeed here. As part of my major
I hope to do an independent study my senior year to find the place
where sociology and music resonate.
