"When I visited the campus, I was captivated by the closely
knit community and the friendly students. Small classes, a welcoming
student body, and a variety of organizations made St. Lawrence
a place where I felt at home," says Molly Milliken ’04.
Milliken studied art, theatre, and history while visiting theatres
and museums throughout London in her semester on St. Lawrence’s
program there. She stayed with a family who taught her about
British culture and spent the last month as an intern at Credit
Suisse First Boston. “ I learned a lot about accounting
and the differences between financial practices in the European
Union and the U.S. ,” she says.
Milliken has also worked in Washington, D.C., as a summer intern
with U.S. Senator Susan Collins ’75 of Maine. “It’s
amazing to learn about political and world events by living them,
and St. Lawrence provides great opportunities for students to
do so with abroad programs and internship opportunities,” she
explains.
Milliken is hoping to continue with similar work and then enter
law school.
