| The personal
attention that I get from St. Lawrence faculty is why I love it
here. For example, last semester I took an independent study course
and wrote a paper which I will get to present at a conference
that one of my professors is taking me to. I'm a little nervous,
but very excited about presenting it.
St. Lawrence has, from the time I came to visit as a prospective
student, felt like home to me. I had a great time in the first-year
program, living and attending a class with the same group of people
was beneficial, and I liked being part of it.
Working as a tour guide, I love to show prospective St. Lawrence
students all of the cool things we have here, like the fireplace
in the pub and the 'tree houses,' elevated study areas in the
library, so they can feel as at home here as I do.
Ideally, I'd like to go study in Denmark next year. They have
a course in the history of mathematics that I am looking forward
to, as well as speaking another language and experiencing a new
culture.
It might sound corny, but I miss St. Lawrence over winter break
and over the summer. I'm never sure if I want to leave, and always
look forward to catching up with my friends after we return. |
