Because
I come from a big city, St. Lawrence is a much different environment
than I am used to. It is, however, a nice change. I enjoy the quiet
atmosphere. Peace and quiet is a wonderful thing.
In bigger universities you can get lost in the crowd and you never
really get to know your professors. St. Lawrence is better because
classes are small, and many of our professors live nearby. They
are always around inside and outside of class.
Being near the Adirondack area also offers a unique experience.
It provides a number of great activities that I wouldn't normally
have easy access to regularly at home, such as hiking, camping,
hunting and canoeing, to name a few.
St. Lawrence has opened many different horizons for me. Living
in the city, I was sheltered by people of my own race and ethnic
background. At St. Lawrence I've come to know many different people,
which has helped me realize that we are not as different as we thought. |
