Name: Molly Gove '06
Major: Environmental Studies
Minor: Outdoor Studies
Hometown: Camden, ME
Activities: Environmental Action Organization
(EAO), work for Outdoor Program leading backcountry skiing, ice
climbing, rock climbing and backpacking trips.
“Being a student at SLU has enhanced my interest in being
active in the outdoors and also in furthering my goals to be
an environmental educator,” says Molly Gove ’06. “The
teachers truly care about the students and want them to succeed—they’re
good role models. I like being at a small school where we all
can have our potential brought forth. I also think that all the
theme houses and activities on the St. Lawrence campus create
a great environment for students.”
“Nights at the Java Barn, hiking in the Adirondacks, and
seeing everyone burst from their cocoons as soon as the weather
becomes warm,” are of a few of Gove’s most memorable
experiences at St. Lawrence.
Gove wants to continue leading trips for the Outdoor Program
and become a more involved member of EAO. “I think there is a
lot of hope for getting the campus to become more environmentally
conscious,” says Gove. “I really want the entire campus
to be involved in doing their part in our community, or at least
be aware.”
