Residence, treasurer for the Black Cultural Center, Diversity
Coalition, Reading and Math Tutor Program, C-STEP (Collegiate
Science and Technology Entry Program) mentor, usher for co-curricular

While Prisca Fall’s academic accomplishments are impressive,
her campus involvement is extraordinary. During her sophomore
year she involved herself in the annual Soul Food Dinner, which
is put on by the Black Cultural Center (BCC) and the Black Women’s
Residence (BWR); this attracted her to living in the BWR for
her junior and senior years. The residence sponsors programs
for the St. Lawrence community, such as a Double-Dutch jump rope
workshop and events for Black History Month, in addition to the
popular Soul Food Dinner. Fall was elected treasurer of the BCC,
which she says has given her the opportunity to be a leader on
campus and to practice her teamwork skills.
Fall has also participated
in the Reading and Math Tutor Program as a first-grade teaching
assistant at a local elementary school, helping students with
their
vocabulary, math and writing skills. She found the program so rewarding that
she decided to go back for a second year.
“Being at St. Lawrence has helped me appreciate a slower pace of life – I’m
from a city where life moves quickly,” Fall explains. “At the same
time, I can be very busy here. I like the fact that at St. Lawrence you can really
focus on your work. The years have gone by fast, but the memories I will have
from this place will be endless.”
