Being the people person I am, I enjoy the small school ambiance
of St. Lawrence. St. Lawrence really is a close-knit community.
When walking to class or eating in the dining hall, I see professors
and students that I know personally and others that I just know
by sight.
Knowing the people at my college, even if only by face, is a
comforting feeling. At St. Lawrence I explore new interests while
also keeping up the old. Last semester, in addition to playing
on the volleyball team, I also took riding lessons for the first
time ever. I love trying new things.
Also, I am the recording secretary of the First-Year College
Committee, which plans activities for first-year students. Last
semester we organized a weekend ski trip to Mont Tremblant, Canada,
for any first-year students interested. The weekend was a a lot
of fun and we are already planning another trip for this semester.
On the weekends, I work as a ski instructor at Titus Mountain.
This gives me a chance to take a break from my studies and obligations
on campus.
My experiences at St. Lawrence have allowed me to grow up. I
know myself better from being on my own and dealing with my own
responsibilities. The environment of St. Lawrence has enabled
this growth. |
