Major: Economics, minor in Geography
Profession: Analyst at Goldman, Sachs, & Co.
Hometown: New York, NY
Even before he came to St. Lawrence, Chris knew that he wanted
to work on Wall Street. At St. Lawrence he studied economics and
was president of the Thelomathesian Society (student government).
His economics classes with professors Alison Del Rossi and Brian
Chezum helped him to find a realistic approach to Wall Street and
theoretical economics. Then, during the summer between his junior
and senior years, he was able to pursue his dream of working in
the financial world through an internship with St. Lawrence trustee
Jay Ireland ’77 at GE Capital in Stamford, CT. During his
internship, he developed his friendship with the members of the
Board of Trustees with whom he had worked closely as Thelmo president.
He eventually met Donna Winston ’85, who was in charge of
recruiting at Goldman, Sachs, & Co. Chris was offered a position
and joined the company after graduation.
Networking was important in Chris’s career search, and he
returns the favor by networking with current St. Lawrence students.
Gary Godshaw ’02 did an internship with Chris’s firm
and after graduation was offered a job; Breanne Malloy ’03
also interned at Goldman, Sachs, & Co. over the summer of 2002.
