| Ken Polk '91
ADP District Manager, Buffalo, New York
As a student, psychology major Ken Polk was active in Phi Kappa
Sigma, the Jewish Student Union, The Hill News and Calling All Saints.
He also participated in the London program and was a member
of ODK. Ken worked as a teaching assistant in the psychology
department and was an intern for University communications.
Immediately following graduation, he was a counselor for St. Lawrence's
admissions office; he has since volunteered as a Laurentian Admissions
Associate and in the high school liaison program, working with students
and the guidance department from his former high school.
Finally, Ken has served on the Alumni Association's Executive Council
while continuing to report Class Notes for St. Lawrence.
"St. Lawrence has been a part of my life for 15 years and
I enjoy giving time back," he said. "I especially
have enjoyed the last three and one-half years working on
the Alumni Council where I have met some other extremely dedicated
alumni. I think we make a difference in carrying
out St. Lawrence's mission and it's a great way to stay involved."
Ken believes St. Lawrence gave him the ability to succeed in sales
today. "My work ethic and well-rounded background
have allowed me to feel comfortable making presentations and meeting
people," he says. His relationships with faculty, staff and
students grew throughout his years of being involved on campus and
he believes the connections he made both then and now have helped
his career. "I truly believe in the 'Laurentian for Life'
concept and know that St. Lawrence will continue to be a part of
my life for the next 15 years," he says.
