James Garbarino '68

James Garbarino '68 is a psychologist at Cornell University and the co-author of Parents Under Siege: Why You Are The Solution, Not The Problem, In Your Child's Life, published in September 2001 as the most recent of his 18 books.

The St. Lawrence graduate who's an expert on the effects of violence on children returned to St. Lawrence in late April is the keynote speaker for a regional conference for educators, social workers, police and other professionals, and for the annual Phi Beta Kappa spring banquet.

Jim Garbarino received an honorary degree from St. Lawrence for his important work on the family.
