St. Lawrence University Trustee Emeritus David L. Torrey, of Montreal, has given $2 million to renovate the University-owned building at 76 Park Street to become the Diana B. Torrey Health and Counseling Center, in memory of his daughter.

Assistant Professor of Fine Arts Melissa Schulenberg is among the artists whose work will be exhibited in the Roland Gibson Gallery at SUNY Potsdam, presenting its 2005 Fourth Triennial North Country Regional Award Winners. The month-long exhibition begins Friday, January 28, with an opening reception at 7 p.m. in the Gibson Gallery Lobby in Brainerd Hall.

Joseph Lekuton '91, M'94 was featured in the January 24 edition of People magazine, in its "Teacher" section. The story detailed how Lekuton, a Maasai tribesman, annually takes his students from the Langley School, along with their parents, to see how and where he grew up in Kenya.

Through this week, the Web Cam will be pointed to an archived image the Chenrezig mandala created by the Venerable Tenzin Yignyen at the Richard F. Brush Art Gallery at St. Lawrence University. The work is based on the Tibetan Buddhist deity of compassion. Also known in Sanskrit as Avalokiteshvara, Chenrezig is the manifestation of the infinite compassion of all Buddhas.
