St. Lawrence hosted the 2004 CSA National Individual Championships in the Robie Squash Center and the Leithead Field House.
A program which graduated its first senior class in May of 2003, St. Lawrence University's women's squash team has made a steady climb up the rankings in its four years as a varsity and is on the verge of a top ten finish nationally.
The Saints, who hosted the 2004 men's and women's individual national championships at the nine-court Robie Squash Center, compete as members of the Women's Intercollegiate Squash Racquets Association and College Squash Association. The Saint schedule is a mixture of dual matches and collegiate tournaments with individual play in nearby Canadian open tournaments. The Liberty League, (formerly the UCAA) will sanction a squash championship and league members sponsoring the sport in addition to the Saints include Hobart/William Smith, Hamilton, Rochester and Vassar. The Saint women swept the field en route the first league championship last winter.
Ashley Eldredge and Katia Stipinovich represented the Saints in the individual nationals at the end of the season and each made the consolation finals.
The Robie Squash Center, home of the Saints, includes nine state-of-the-art international ASB Systems Squash courts. It will be augmented by a four-wall glass court in the Leithead Field House for the Individual Nationals in the spring.
