HAMILTON TURNS BACK SAINTS IN FINAL MATCH 8-1

Feb. 9: Laura Dobbs defeated Hamilton’s Natalie Schwerin 3-0 at four for the Saints only match win as Hamilton’s women’s squash team beat the Saints for the second time this season 8-1 at the Robie Squash Center.

The Saints complete their regular season with a 5-12 match record and will await the Howe Cup competition at Princeton in two weeks. The Saints, 2007 Epps Cup champions are likely to move up a division for this season’s team championship competition.

Dobbs earned her fourth individual win of the season with 9-5, 9-7 and 9-0 wins. Saint captain Molly Terrien also won 3-0 over Jane Hannon in the exhibition at ten and is 9-5 on the season.

Kelly Whipple beat the Saints Meg North 3-0 at one, Hamilton’s Krissy Rubin turned back Jacqueline Barrett in the first official match on the new championship glass court at two and Leila Clifford beat Erin Hart 3-0 at three. Danielle Forsythe topped the Saints; Alyssa Smith at five, A.P. Daniels fell to Betsy McDermott at six and Blake Carbone lost to Anne Edelstein at seven. Anna Dunlap went four games with Nina Platt at eight with Dunlap winning game one 10-8 before Platt won the match with 9-4, 9-4, and 9-0 wins and Hannon beat Jessie Ziegler 3-0 at nine.
