SAINTS WIN IN LAST REGULAR SEASON HOME GAME

Oct. 18- After a tie and a loss last weekend to UCAA competitors Hamilton and William Smith, the St. Lawrence Saints bounced back with a 1-0 win against the Ithaca College Bombers, 6-5-3, at home on Sandy MacAllaster field in their only game of the week.

Devon Cain scored her second game winning goal of the season from a pass by Kate Adams 20 minutes into the game. Adams carried the ball down the field and fed it to Cain who broke through the Bomber’s defense and past goalkeeper Kurstin Meehan to knock it into the left side of the net.

Meehan had five saves for the day while Saints goalkeeper Carly Draper had three in winning effort. This game marks the sixth shutout for Draper.

The win brings the Saint’s record to 8-4-1, 2-2-1, on the season as they gear up for a UCAA road trip weekend against Rensselaer on Friday and Vassar next Saturday.
