2007-08: Akstull had a break-out season in 2007-08, finishing tied for second on the roster with 42 points, 28 more than her rookie campaign. Akstull flirted with the record books early in the season, scoring a goal in seven consecutive games. She finished with new career-highs in goals, assists, points, power play goals and game-winning goals. The economics major also earned her way on to ECAC Hockey’s All-Academic Team for the second straight year.

 

2006-07: Akstull added a smart, quick skater to the Saints third line during her rookie season. The Clifton Park, NY played in all 40 of the team's games in 2007, scoring seven goals and adding seven assists for a total of 14 points, tied for the most amongst first year players. Akstull scored a pair of goals twice in her first season against both Maine and Union. Of her seven goals, two were game-winners and one came short-handed. She also earned ECACHL All-Academic Honors in her rookie season as well.

 

 

Pre-St. Lawrence

Tara was an outstanding offensive weapon for the Troy-Albany Ice Cats, the 2006 New York State Champions. Akstull scored 53 goals and had 29 assists (82 points) in just 44 games. She attended the USA Hockey National Development Camps from 2002-06 and was a high-school All-American in lacrosse.  Tara was a High Honor Roll student at Shenendehowa High School and captained her hockey, soccer and lacrosse teams. Akstull is the daughter of Frances and Walter Akstull, and she was born on March 27, 1988.
