Warren Lutes To Receive Service Award

Warren Lutes
Warren Lutes is the 2010 recipient of the New York State Collegiate Track Conference Service Award.

During a career spanning over five decades, including thirty-one years as a coach at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Warren has consistently exemplified and encouraged the philosophy and betterment of the conference by promoting a high level of sportsmanship and friendly relationships among its members.

As a coach, Warren has helped lead teams to three consecutive ICAC Championships from 1969 to 1971, the 1994 EAA Championships, the UCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships from 1998 to 2000, the 2000 NYSCTC Indoor Championships, and the 1997 ECAC Indoor Championships. In addition, Warren has coached fifteen individual All-Americans, including NCAA Champion Krishaun Gilmore in 1977. Warren was also recognized by his fellow coaches as the 2000 NCAA Atlantic Region Indoor Coach of the Year.
