The Merrick-Pinkard Track and Field complex and Newell Field House are home to the Saint men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field programs and have been the site of a number of major meets since their opening in the early 2000’s.
Merrick-Pinkard track was the host of the 2003 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships and has also hosted a number of New York State Collegiate Track Conference and Liberty League Championship meets. It is a nine lane synthetic surface track with javelin runways at either end. It also has four jump pits for the long and triple jumps, two pole vault areas and shot and discus circles. A hammer circle is located just a short walk from the main track complex.
The Newell Field House indoor track complex (left) has also hosted a number of major meets including invitationals, the NYSCTC championships and the Liberty League Championships. It is an eight-lane 200 meter synthetic surface track with infield positions for the weight and shot, pole vault and high jump. The long and triple jump pits are along the back straight.
Saint track and field athletes also take advantage of the Stafford Fitness Center in the Newell Field House for training and conditioning and use the nearby Augsbury Natatorium for water workouts.
