PAIR OF SENIORS TO CAPTAIN

SAINTS IN 2009-10

May 28: St. Lawrence University men’s tennis head coach Jeremy Freeman has announced that seniors Chris Rodilosso and Chris McDonald were serve as captains for the 2009-10 season.

“(Chris) Rodilosso and (Chris) McDonald have both developed into impressive players on the court and leaders off of it,” said Coach Freeman.  “I’m confident they’ll continue to lead the program in a positive direction next season.”

Rodilosso served as one of the squad’s captains as a junior, and will continue that role in his senior campaign.  The Fair Haven, NJ native was the team’s go-to player at No. 6 singles where he had a 9-6 record and finished 12-7 overall, earning him Liberty League Honorable Mention.  Rodilosso is also one of the team’s primary doubles players, as he and partner Christopher Tamm were at 8-6 at the No. 3 slot in 2008-09.

Meanwhile, McDonald is coming off of a solid junior year that saw him earn Liberty League First Team honors for both singles and doubles.  The Manchester, MA native finished the regular season with a singles record of 12-6 and added a solid presence to the middle of the team’s line-up.  He and teammate Jon Satkowski picked up First Team doubles honors for the second straight season behind a 17-4 overall record and a 15-2 mark at the No. 1 spot.

The Saints, who narrowly missed out on an NCAA Tournament bid last year with a solid 13-4 record, finished in third place in the Liberty League for the third consecutive season.
