
SAINTS TIED FOR 12TH AT DUKE NELSON INVITATIONAL
Sept. 14: Ben von Reyn was the only Saint player to shoot in the 70s each day, following up a first-round 74 with a 77 on Sunday on the tough Ralph Myre Golf Course at Middlebury College to finish with a 151 total at the Duke Nelson Invitational.
The Saint team finished tied for 12th in a 22-team field with a four-man total of 634. Skidmore won the tournament with a two-day total of 593 with NYU and Trinity tied for second at 606.
All of the Saint counting scorers were in the 70s on Saturday as von Reyn led the way with a 74, L.B. Haney shot 78 and rookies David Bushing and Adrian Bouthot each shot 79. Bushing and Bouthot shot 82 on Sunday to finish at 161 and Haney shot an 83, also finishing with a 161 total. Pete Harriman was the fifth Saint golfer in the tournament and shot rounds of 82 and 90 for a 172 total.
The Saints will return to action at Williams Saturday and Sunday.
