2007: Funch opened his collegiate career with a 17th place showing in the Plattsburgh State "Cardinal Classic," and continued to impress throughout his rookie season. The Groton, MA native posted his best time of the season at Saratoga (27:26), and also had a 31st place finish in the 2007 Liberty League Championships. Funch, who intends to major in Physics and Mathematics, earned Dean's List honors in the spring of 2008.

At Groton-Dunstable Regional
Funch competed on both the Cross Country and Track and Field teams, where he served as team captain. The Groton, MA native was a three-time League All-Star in Cross Country, and was the recipient of both the "Coaches Award" and the "Most Accomplished Runner Award." Funch was also a member of the National Honor Society and the French Honor Society.
