
10th Annual
Intramural Canoe Relay Race
In
conjunction with the 49th Canton Canoe Weekend "Rushton Races"

Race Start is 1:30 PM
Start
& Finish at Taylor Park, Miner Street Road, Canton, NY
- This was the first collegiate
division canoe relay of its kind!
- Teams from any College or
University are welcome to compete for awards.
- Recreation Canoe Relay Race
consists of 6 paddlers (minimum 4) per team paddling their canoe on the
three sections (legs) of the course, exchanging paddlers between each leg.
3 legs consisting of the following distances:
1.5 miles, 1.0 miles and .5 mile
- Canoes must be tandem
recreational canoes under 17'6" long and weigh over 55 lbs.
(A limited number of canoes, paddles and life jackets will be made
available at Taylor Park to St. Lawrence University teams through the SLU
Outdoor Program approx. 6-8 so sign up early to reserve a canoe!)
- Entry Fee is $10
per person (cash or check payable to Canton Canoe Weekend) All paddlers
must sign an insurance waiver!
- Awards include a 49th Annual
Commemorative T-shirt to all entrants, Canton Canoe Weekend awards to the
top three teams, six bent shaft canoe paddles sponsored by the St.
Lawrence Intramural Program to the first place Collegiate Relay Team
(students only). The first place collegiate relay team and paddlers
will also be recognized on a permanent trophy. Click
