2007: Kearney was a back-up to Brad Heil in his first season with the Scarlet and Brown.

At James M. Coughlin High School

Kearney captained both the football and baseball teams during his senior season. The Laflin, PA native was selected the Team MVP for football as well as earning All-League honors in 2006. Kearney was also impressive on the baseball diamond, where he was again the Team MVP, an All-League choice and a member of the All-Scholastic Team in 2007.
