New Faculty/Staff Dining Room Policy: In a recent campus memo, Vice President of Administrative Operations Tom Coakley notes that “Effective March 22 (when classes resume after Spring Break), the Faculty/Staff Dining Room will offer a soup and salad buffet, with cookies and fruit, available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Payment of $3 per person will be made on an honor system and includes a beverage choice. Faculty and staff also retain the option of bringing to the Faculty/Staff Dining Room a purchased lunch from the North Star Café in the Student Center, a purchased lunch from Dana at the regular employee price of $5, or a bag lunch from home. Before 11 a.m. and after 2 p.m., the Faculty/Staff Dining Room can be reserved for meetings by contacting Room Reservations at 5996 or roomres@stlawu.edu. During the lunch period, the small dining room (informally called the Dean’s Dining Room) within the Faculty /Staff Dining Room may be reserved for lunch meetings, although customized catering for lunches in that room will not be offered.”

Artist in Residence: Artist Kalsang Tsering Sherpa will be in residence on campus through March 12, creating a thankga painting in Richard F. Brush Art Gallery. For information: 5192.

Modern Languages Honoraries: Applications are now being received from students eligible for the French, German and Spanish honoraries. Qualifications vary. Candidates should leave their names with Mary Lloyd, Carnegie 316, phone 5154. Deadline for applications is March 12, 2004.

ODK Applications: Sophomores, juniors and seniors in the top third of their class are invited to apply for membership in Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), the national leadership honor society recognizing leadership, exemplary character and citizenship. Applications are available at the Information Desk of the Student Center, and on the ODK Web page, http://www.stlawu.edu/odk/odk.htm, or by contacting Peg Cornwell at pcornwell@stlawu.edu. Applications, along with a faculty recommendation, are due March 24 at noon in Room 238 of the Student Center. Lunch Bunch: Laurentian Women's Association Lunch Bunch meets on the first Wednesday of each month in the Eben Holden Conference Room (note new location).
