Piskor Lecture Nominations: Nominations for the Frank P. Piskor Faculty Lectureship for 2005-06 should be provided to Michael Sheard, msheard@stlawu.edu, by 5 p.m., Tuesday, March 8. Nominations must be made in writing; nominees must be continuing members of the St. Lawrence faculty for at least three years prior to nomination; any member of the University community may make a nomination; self-nomination is acceptable; past lectureship holders may be renominated after five years.

• The Emily Eaton Hepburn Women's Award for Creative Leadership, which recognizes outstanding women in the University community who have created learning opportunities through imaginative leadership. Self-Defense and Martial Arts Classes: New classes, to be conducted after Spring Break, are now being formed. An introductory class is scheduled for Monday, March 7, at 6 p.m. in the Newell Field House Multipurpose Room. For information: Frank Palumbo, 386-3029.

Lunch Bunch: Laurentian Women's Association Lunch Bunch meets one Wednesday per month at noon in the Eben Holden Conference Room. Remaining dates for the spring semester are April 6 and May 4. Reservations must be made by noon the preceding day with Mickey Williams, 386-8781. Lunch Bunch is open to all women faculty and staff and wives of faculty and staff, including retirees.

Retirees Luncheons: University retirees gather for lunch one Tuesday a month at noon in the Eben Holden Conference Room. Remaining dates for the spring semester are March 8, April 12 and May 10. Reservations must be made by noon the preceding day with Mickey Williams, 386-8781, or Wanda Renick, 386-3474.

Achievements

Fifteen members of the Model United Nations at St. Lawrence participated in the Harvard National Model United Nations Conference in Boston in February. During the conference, some 3,000 students from participating colleges and universities are assigned to represent various U.N.-member countries, and assume the role of ambassadors to debate current issues in global politics. Student delegates prepare draft resolutions, plot strategy, negotiate with supporters and adversaries and resolve conflicts, all within the rules of Parliamentary Procedure. Members of St. Lawrence's Model U.N. were assigned to represent Senegal at the conference, and each participant had committee assignments as well.
