Visiting Assistant Professor

The Department of Economics at St. Lawrence University invites applications for a one-year position for a visiting assistant professor beginning in the Fall 2010.  This position is potentially renewable for up to three years.  Located in Northern New York, St. Lawrence University is an independent-selective liberal arts college enrolling approximately 2200 students.  The Department of Economics consists of 10 members covering a broad array of fields. As a department, we are committed to excellence in both teaching and research.  First preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated ability in experimental economics.  The economics department houses a small experimental economics lab and hopes to find an individual interested in pursuing experimental research including mentoring student research in a liberal arts setting. Although our first preference is for an experimental economist, outstanding candidates in other fields, particularly in health economics or macroeconomics, will be given full consideration.

To be considered, applicants must submit (via hard copy only) a cover letter, curriculum vita, evidence of teaching effectiveness, sample of research and 3 letters of recommendation to Search Committee Chair, Department of Economics, St. Lawrence University, Canton, New York 13617.  Review of applications will begin December 15th, 2009.
