Climbing in the Red River Gorge

Spring Break Climbing Trip

RED RIVER GORGE: Kentucky

The Outdoor Program commonly ventures to the Deep South for spring break: rock climbing on splitter cracks and pocketed faces at the Red River Gorge in the hills of ole Kentucky. Known for world class sport climbing as well as traditional climbing, the Red River Gorge challenges the climbing wall addict and charms the Adirondack traditionalist. Guides tailor the curriculum for this rock climbing course to the specific goals of participants, but typically includes climbing movement, sport and traditional leading and following, and anchor construction and cleaning. Groups stay in a beautiful cabin, which features a fire pit under a huge overhang, a private crag, and short drive to over 50 crags in the area.
