Final ‘Noon in the Chapel’ to Feature Slovenian Musician
St. Lawrence University’s final Noon in the Chapel of the 2016-17 academic year will begin at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, April 14, in Gunnison Memorial Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.
The concert will feature Sondra Goldsmith Proctor, St. Lawrence’s organist and musician-in-residence, playing Paul J. Sifler’s ‘The Seven Last Words.’ Silfer emigrated from Slovenia to California and his musical setting paints pictures with passion and many colors of tones.
Sopranos Karen Schulenberg and Julianne DeGuardi, a member of St. Lawrence’s Class of 2017, will also perform Christe Eleison from Mass in B Minor by Johann Sebastian Bach.
Parking for chapel events will be in H-Lot, across from Griffiths Arts Center and next to Vilas Hall. There also will be a drop-off location and limited handicapped parking spaces in front of Richardson Hall and at the front of the chapel.
