CHRIS NORMAN ENSEMBLE RETURNS TO SLU
CANTON - Chris Norman, maritime Canada's virtuoso flute player, piper and
culinary enthusiast, returns to St. Lawrence University with his ensemble to
present "Piper in the Pantry," a celebration of the complimentary arts of food,
cooking and music. The ensemble will perform in concert on Thursday, February 23,
at 8 p.m. in The Underground, Noble Center. The event is open to the public, free
of charge.
Members of the ensemble will also conduct a workshop, on Friday, February 24,
at 4 p.m. in The Underground; it is also open to the public.
With "Piper in the Pantry," the Chris Norman Ensemble takes a peek behind the
cupboard doors of early English, Irish and Scots musical traditions at their
intersection with the culinary arts, as well as presenting a selection of favorites
from their repertoire.
The ensemble also performed at the University in 2003.
