The Manley Society Achievement
Award
Established: 1998
Awarded by: St. Lawrence University
Eligibility: Membership
in the G. Atwood Manley Society. (Society members have
planned some type of deferred gift(s) to St. Lawrence
and have notified the Society of their planning).
Selection criteria: The
award is presented to a person or persons who demonstrate
loyalty and commitment to St. Lawrence through their
participation in the Manley Society. This may include,
but not be limited to:
- Their commitment to St. Lawrence as evidenced
by their planned giving
- Alerting others to the benefits of planned giving
to support St. Lawrence
- Working with classmates and fellow alumni to
encourage the creation of planned gifts
- Exhibiting the ideals of honesty, integrity,
loyalty, philanthropy and citizenship; ideals important
to the Society and to its namesake
Selection process: Nominations
are solicited annually by the Committee on Planned
Giving. Nominations may come from alumni, from members
of the campus community or from friends or family members
of nominees. Special attention will be given to alumni
nominees when they celebrate a reunion anniversary
year. One or more honorees may be selected in any given
year. Honorees may receive the award only once. Awards
will generally not be made posthumously. Eligible nominations
will remain on file for future consideration. The credentials
of the finalist(s) are presented to the President for
approval.
The Manley Society
Achievement Award is presented during alumni reunion
each June. Nominations are due by October 31 of the
preceding year.
