St. Lawrence University Libraries' Reference Services
General Information

The librarians at St. Lawrence offer a number of services and programs designed to help library patrons use our collections and resources efficiently, skillfully, and creatively.

Reference desk assistance is available weekdays and Sundays (see Hours) in the Owen D. Young Library and the Launders Science Library. Questions may also be asked via phone or by using our "Ask a Librarian" e-mail service.

Individual appointments for research consultations are available throughout the academic year, see our Request a Research Consultation.

Phone 229-5473 for further information.

CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION

Course-related research instruction is offered by librarians at the request of faculty members for courses at all levels. While the development of library skills is an integral part pf the communication component of the First Year Program, introducing students to research as well as to critical and evaluative skills, the continued development and honing of these skills is a four-year process. Course-related instruction is one way to accomplish this. For information on research instruction in the First Year Program or other courses please contact Joan Larsen at 229-5473.
