Criteria for Selecting Web Resources
The criteria for selection of Internet resources places an emphasis on search tools and directional tools rather than specific topical pages. Directional tools include search engines, guides, and metasites. Internet Subject Pages are made of topical search engines (when available), metasites (particularly those which are university-based), well developed professional sites, and those specific topic sites that have been recommended by either web review services or members of the SLU community.
We recommend these search engines: Google, Teoma, AlltheWeb, and Mooter. We recommend these directories: Internet Public Library, Librarian's Index to the Internet, and Infomine.
