at the hospital. To see the complete listing, go to: http://www.volunteermatch.org/results/opp
A few of these opportunities follow:
Clinical Volunteers are entrusted with real work.
Work that will contribute in a meaningful way to the success
of our organization. Duties may not always be glamorous; however,
this service is important to our nursing staff. Assignments
may include helping pass trays, moving patients, walking with
patients, answering call lights, helping clean patients and
break rooms, escorting discharged patients to vehicles, and
running errands as necessary
Environmental Services Volunteers help with the
hospital's recycling efforts. They are responsible for gathering
paper recycling bins from all areas of the hospital, inspecting
bins for unacceptable products, and sorting and delivering
paper to collection dumpsters. Evening hours are preferable.
Gift Cart Delivery Volunteers are needed to help
reach those patients who cannot make it to the gift shop. The
gift cart is taken to the first and second floors of the hospital.
The time required is approximately 60 minutes. The gift card
volunteer may also be called upon to deliver patient mail,
bedside card and flowers. Various shifts are available mornings
and afternoons, Monday through Sunday.
Gift Shop Volunteer needed to operate the gift
shop operated by the Potsdam Hospital Guild. Volunteers are
responsible for all aspects of the shop, including sales, ordering,
inventory, and scheduling. All proceeds from the shop benefit
the hospital. In-shop volunteers receive a 20% discount!
Volunteers are especially needed for weekday
evenings and weekend shifts as it is important to patients
and their visitors that the shop maintain daily service year-round
(including weekends and holidays).
Volunteers need their own transportation to sites.
