St. Lawrence University Meteorology Network
The ISEI program maintains three weather stations that collect meteorological data and transmit it to SLU every fifteen minutes. The stations are placed in three distinct environments around Canton, NY; one in an open field near the ESL House, one in a wooded environment on the Little River Nature Area and the other approximately 5 miles south of campus on Waterman Hill.
Data is averaged over each hour and outputted to tabular files and is also displayed in near real-time.
Station information including maps and locations, sensors deployed and access to data files are provided for each station below.
Near real-time station comparison data is available here.
The real-time display of meteorological data and the weather stations at the ESL site and on the Little River Nature Area have been made possible by Grant # 0421249 from the Major Research Instrumentation Program sponsored by the National Science Foundation.
These data are made available for educational and scientific use only. All users of weather station data should acknowledge the St. Lawrence University Integrated Science Education Initiative http://www.stlawu.edu/isei/sluwsn.html
ESL Station
The Ecological Sustainability Landscape (ESL) house is located on Route 68 near the St. Lawrence University riding stables. This station provides meteorological data for the Climate and Atmospheric Monitoring Program, which includes a weekly air particulate sampler and an atmospheric wet deposition sampler.
