The Global Studies Department offers an interdisciplinary approach to key global issues such as economic globalization, political violence, migration, environmental degradation, social movements, and the chronic persistence of global inequality.
Students who major in Global Studies do an independent senior research project analyzing the impact of global processes on specific phenomena connected with across and between geographical areas.

The Global Studies major also incorporates off-campus study experiences, foreign language study, and issues of global multiculturalism. Global Studies faculty have collective expertise in a number of academic disciplines and geographic areas.
