Information on May and July Mailings

You should be receiving two major mailings from SLU over the next few months. They are as follows:

In mid-May, you will receive the New Student Guide. The NSG contains information about housing, meal plans, and other important materials for new students. In addition, it includes the First-Year Program course descriptions and preference form. The NSG also contains descriptions of courses available for first-year students, as well as the Academic Information Form, which helps us learn about your academic interests and assign you your advisor. There is a short turn-around time on several of the forms in this mailing, so please give them your prompt attention. The FYP, housing, and academic information forms will all be available online in early May.

Keep the NSG in a safe place, as you will need it later in the summer. Sometime after mid-July, you will be contacted by an academic advisor to begin the process of course selection for the fall. You will need the courses listed in the NSG to engage in that conversation, so please keep it in a safe place.

If you would like to request a second copy of the NSG to be sent to a second address (e.g., summer home, other parent), send us an email here. Please provide us with the start and stop dates for that address.

In mid-July, you will receive your FYP and housing assignments, along with your advisor's name, your roommate's name and contact information, your CMR #, an Orientation schedule and other informational materials. Please watch your mail for that. Again, if there is an address other than the official one we have on file that you'd like us to send that to, email us here.  Shortly after that mailing, you will be contacted by an academic advisor about requesting your other three courses and setting up your "working list". You do not actually register for your other classes until you meet with your advisor during Orientation.
