Curtis Rigsby
Curtis Rigsby is teaching classes such as Philosophy East & West, Asian Philosophy, Aesthetics, and American Philosophy. He has several publications in non-Western and comparative philosophy, and Christian-Buddhist dialogue. His two years at Kyoto University, Japan, studying the so-called Kyoto School, had a particularly strong impact on him. He is fluent in Japanese, and is deeply interested in general, in the relationship between thought, history, culture, and religion. He is currently one of the leading members of the Japan Committee of the SCP (Society of Christian Philosophers). He has traveled to Israel, Turkey, and Greece, to study the history and archeology of the Judeo-Christian religious tradition.
