St. Lawrence University Center for Teaching & Learning

Founded in 2001, the Center's mission is to provide relevant, engaging and ongoing faculty development opportunities to promote innovative teaching practices and course design. The Center's spacious conference room and state-of-the art technology labs host multiple workshops and meetings on a weekly basis. New Faculty Orientation 2008

The Center for Teaching and Learning will host New Faculty Orientation, a two day training session for new faculty, on August 20 & 21, 2008. Please view the invitation and orientation schedule for more details. New Faculty will be particularly interested in Information Technology's Back to Basics training and support for new faculty and staff.

Back to Basics (B2B)

Faculty and Staff may now register for the Back to Basics technology training event scheduled for Monday & Tuesday, August 18 & 19, 2008. B2B technology trainings focus on the most essential elements for launching the academic year successfully. This year's event will include training on ANGEL 7.3, eClassroom technologies, Office 2007, RefWorks, SLU network resources, Vista, and the new voicemail system. All faculty and staff are welcome to participate, however, seating is limited and registration is required. Please have a look at the schedule and register.

How do we intend to comprehensively and coherently address critical literacies in the St. Lawrence curriculum? 2008 Tech Fest: Envisioning Our World - A Success!

The 7th Annual Technology Festival - January 14-16, 2008 - was a tremendous success, with guest presenters from NITLE and enthusiastic participation from University faculty and staff. The program consisited of three day-long NITLE workshops and 11 local workshops. Seven disciplines/programs were represented by faculty TechFair presenters and 11 demonstrations or presentations were provided by IT staff, librarians and faculty. Co-sponsored by the offices of Information Technology, Newell Center for Arts Technology, Center for Teaching & Learning, and Academic & Faculty Affairs 2008 was the most successful TechFest on record. Congratulations and thank you to Sondra Smith and all who worked hard to create such an exceptional program.
