Dr. Renato Rosaldo
Renato Rosaldo one of the world's leading anthropologists.
He is Lucie Stern Professor in the Social Sciences Emeritus at
Stanford and now teaches at NYU. He is the author of Culture and Truth: The remaking
of Social Analysis (1989) as well as Ilongot Headhunting, 1883-1974: A study
in Society and History (1980). A collection of his essays have been published
in Mexico as Renato Rosaldo: Ensayos de antropología crítica
(2006). His first collection of poems, Prayer to Spider Woman/Rezo a la mujer
araña (2003), won an American Book Award, 2004. He had edited collections
on Creativity, Globalization, Cultural Citizenship, The Incas and the Aztecs,
and Latino Studies. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
