ISEP Introduction

The International Student Exchange Program (ISEP) is a network of 275 colleges and universities in 39 countries cooperating to provide affordable access to international education for a diverse student population. ISEP students gain intercultural competence through integration into their host institution and host culture while exploring the international dimensions of their academic field.

SLU students may study at any ISEP international member institution. In the recent past, St. Lawrence have studied at the following institutions through ISEP:

Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso - CHILE
Students live with host families on this program, and may take courses from across the curriculum at Valparaiso. Completion of 5 semesters of Spanish (or equivalent) is required prior to participation.

Philipps-Universität Marburg - GERMANY
Students enroll in the International Undergraduate Study Program (IUSP), which can accommodate students at all German language levels. Students live in University residences, and participate in an extensive cultural program, which includes excursions throughout the region.

Södertörn University- SWEDEN
ISEP offers several institutions in Sweden, Sodertorn is located in a suburb of Stockholm and offers more than 80 classes taught in English each semester. Students live as Swedish students do: in student residences in the city of Huddinge.

University of Ulster- NORTHERN IRELAND

Students may study at one of Ulster's 4 campuses: Belfast, Coleraine, Jordanstown, or Magee. Magee college, particularly, is well known for coursework in Peace Studies and International Politics, while Jordanstown is known for Irish literature studies.

You can view a list of all the ISEP universities where students can study.
Because you directly enroll in university courses, you must be fluent in the language of instruction. However, there are many institutions that offer courses taught in English.

You must plan ahead when applying for ISEP. The deadline for fall semester is December 20th, and for spring semester the applications are due on May 20th.
