Saints Win Four Events, Relay at Hamilton Invitational
St. Lawrence University's women's indoor track team had a quartet of individual champions and a relay title at the 2012 Hamilton College Indoor Invitational on Saturday.
Senior McKayla Nuffer won the mile in 5:23.41, rookie Eliza Bell improved her own SLU record in the high jump with a win at 1.64 meters and Hannah Kinsey won the 200 in 26.85, finished third in the 60 and anchored the Saints' winning 4x200 relay which won in 1:50.35. Tori Bean led a strong Saint showing in the triple jump, winning with a 10.73 meter series. Emily Rebehn was second, Carly Stine fourth and Bell finished fifth.Kinsey was joined on the 4x200 by a trio of rookies, Samantha Yee, Anna Pond and Divya Biswal.
Megan Hulton finished second in the 800 in 2:27.85, Ariel Becca was second in the 1000 in 3:12.56 and the 4x400 relay team of Rebehn, Stine, Toria Coutras and Cassia Hameline finished third in 4:22.60 for other top three finishes on the track for the Saints. Kirsten Linder added a second place finish in the shot put with a throw of 11.51 meters and was fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 13.05 meters.
Biswal was sixth and Kiersten LaPorte seven in the 60 hurdles, Elizabeth Edwards was third and Katie Mannix sixth in the mile while Hameline was seventh in the 400 and Toria Koutras fifth in the 500.
In the field events, Taylor Washington was fifth and Caitlyn Boreyko sixth in the pole vault, both clearing 3.05 meters while Rebehn finished fifth and Bean was sixth in the long jump.
The Saints will host the Liberty League Indoor Championships at the Newell Field House on Saturday in their next meet.
