By early April, most departments and programs submitted an Assessment Plan and Pilot Project proposal to the Dean's Office, with the understanding that a preliminary report would be due on December 1, 2007. The projects received by April 13 were reviewed by the University Assessment Committee and feedback was provided to each chair/program coordinator. As we move into the new academic year, and ever closer to December 1st, it is important that you revisit your plans for the project. To that end, I am writing to ask that you submit a brief update to me by September 15th. Your update should include the following information:
1) What elements of your pilot project have you completed?
2) What are your assessment plans for the current semester?
3) What elements will you be able to report on in your December 1st preliminary report?
