Dr. David T. Lloyd received his Ph.D. from UCLA. in 1978 with a specialization in African History. Prior to coming to St. Lawrence University in 1985 he taught and conducted research in East, Central and West Africa for over 10 years. He was the Coordinator for the African Studies Program from 1987 to 1994, and Chair of the History Department from 1994 to 2002. He has been an active member of the African Studies Advisory Board and the Kenya Semester Abroad Selection Committee since the mid-1980s.
