LRC - Placement exams
Students taking Spanish, French, or German at St. Lawrence must take the online placement exam at the beginning of the semester in order to determine if the courses they have chosen fit their skill level and at the end of the semester to measure the progress they have made in the language. While these tests are required for all students studying French, Spanish or German, the scores obtained will not figure in the calculation of the final grade. To take the exam, please contact Gisele El Khoury, Interim Director of the Language Resource Center, to get login information.
The exam takes about twenty minutes to complete. You will receive the results at the end of the exam, and in a follow-up email. The results are also submitted directly to the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures.
Please note that a given result does not guarantee placement in a particular course or level. Please contact the instructor of the course for additional information on selecting a course appropriate to your level. See the faculty directory for information about who to contact.
After you get the login information, click on this link to take the placement exam.
